Checkout my first ever game design for an open world RPG, "Miniature 3D" which was made by me and my friends as major project for our Bachelor's of Engineering in Information Technology.
This project took around 6 to 8 months for us to learn and execute as the project was so big because we had to learn unity and the aspects of game development very quickly and gather all the necessary assets and had to follow the trial and error method for every assets to be suitable for our game.
It was really fun while learning the new technology for which we we're totally unaware of, Our learning strategy was to quickly get to know the basics of 3D modelling using blender then tried making some simple games in unity which we're included in the unity asset store as the unity tutorials with sample projects just to get some basic idea about the workflow of the unity's C# API and some game mechanics. I enjoyed a lot while making this project because everyday was different.
